McLeod Ganj, India
While living and working in a Tibetan Buddhist nunnery in India, I’d spend my off-time catching the bus to Mcleod Ganj to visit the Dalai Lama’s temple. I’d sit in awe, listening to his Holiness talk about the importance of emotional intelligence, the beauty in kindness, and the power of self-awareness.
After the lectures, I would always wind up at the Illiterati Cafe, the coziest little cafe/bookstore with a balcony boasting the best view of the Himalayan Mountains in the area. It was here that I was asked to paint my first mural. We decided on the mountain scene for their outside wall, adding warmth and love to their backyard space.
